Scan Letterhead Into Word Template With Original Watermark. In the save as dialog, change the save as type: To the far right is the page background group.

For example, you might change the margins, fonts, or style. If you scan an existing piece of stationery, you can then set the resulting graphic as the background or “watermark”. From the file menu, select save as….
In order to add your full page letterhead image into a document template, you'll need to add it as a watermark, and then make a few adjustments: From the main menu, click the design tab. In the save as dialog, change the save as type:
At file name: box type letterhead, as name of template, and then in the “save as type:” box, click on the drop down arrow and choose “word template.” As we’ll see in a moment, this may not always yield acceptable results, but it’s an option. From the main menu, click view and select print layout.
